A History of Insight, Integrity, and Impact
Our Story
Founded as an independent division of Chorus Communications—one of the fastest-growing telecommunications consulting firms on the East Coast at the time—Symphony Communications, LLC originally launched with 13 partners and a primary focus on helping businesses save money and increase efficiency in their daily communications services. In 2006, Christian M. Benedetto Jr., one of the founders with a 20 percent stake in the firm, began buying out partners at valuations of up to 10.8 years of cash flow. By 2008, he had gained majority control of the company and gradually expanded into additional cost-savings areas. In 2013, he acquired the final partner interests and has continued to grow the firm, expanding its services to more than 50 categories.
In 2023, the firm changed its name to Symphony Cost Containment to reflect its expansion over the last two decades beyond telecommunications services.
Today, the firm represents one of the 10 largest healthcare systems in the United States, another top-25 healthcare system, three universities, a 100-plus-year-old New York City–based commercial janitorial services company, multiple auto dealerships, two 225-plus-year-old boarding schools in the Northeast, and a private equity firm based in Los Angeles, to name a few.
Clients achieve savings ranging from 4.5% to 35% across telecommunications, IT, cell phone services, data centers, credit card processing, office supplies, medical supplies, cleaning supplies and services, and payroll processing—all through a no-cost analysis. On average, the firm delivers 19.7% savings across the board.
